Weekly lesson - Does Technology brings More Harm than Good?


Hi students!

Please check out these COOL gadgets. What do you think it is?





There's a saying that "All technology should not be assumed guilty until proven innocent".

 It has been a debated subject that there are some people who would be thinking that life will be better without technology. But by looking at our lifestyle nowadays, we cant't actually function well WITHOUT technology.

What do you think? Does technology brings more harm than good? Provide your reason and examples. Thanks:)

    it brings more good than harm. :) my cellphone, fridge, laptop,tv, air conditioning is very important. i cant live without these technologies.. i am very thankful to the dudes that is awesome enough to invent these technologies.. i love you cool dudes :3

      guess i forgot about the benefit thing huh? :/ im sorry!! well, there are a lot of benefits here but I'll point out what i can.

      one, if there's no fridge, there's no ice cream, ice or cold water to quench our thirst in the scorching heat.second,we can use technologies such as the internet to do something educational. example, your blog :)our phones and laptops are important as they help us to communicate and make our job done easier and faster.

    technology brings more harm than good because it can affect our eyes and health. too much games can kill us sometimes..u know all the bad eyesight or big belly.

    I think, technology is harmful because students cant focused on their studies. Kids nowadays always takes advantages on chances that been given. For example, their teacher asked them to search important information but they search another web that unuseful.

      hmm i think parents can avoid their children from using technology with take their phones or broadbands on weekdays or parents should only give their children using internet to find for useful imformation that been give by teacher at school. GIVE BY THEIR TEACHER ONLY! :)

      The air-conditioner !! Because it gives us the temperature we need to cool our body but , it gives out a types of gas that thinning the ozone layer of the earth :))

    For me , nowadays technology are so modern and because of that our world has changed . Take a look at the world right now , there are so many buildings . Now , take a look at the world in 1990's 1980's . The greenness of the grass , the blue sea . It's just WONDERFUL . Now , the wonderful of nature has become less and lesser . What about in future ? Probably it will disappear just like that . Besides , technology make our life so easy that we can't feel the REAL challenges of life . I think technology brings more harm than good . And Yes , I admit that technology lead us to easiness . But it does not lead us to happiness .

      Wow ayeesh..Can't agree more:) Technology has really taken a serious toll on our environment. Deforestation is a good example of how technology can create harmful effect on the mother earth.

      Yes, that as many have mentioned before that technology makes our life so much easier but what if one day, we lose all of this? We may not be able to survive bacause of our over-independence on technology..

    Technology definitely has played an important role in our daily lives. we shall take the nearest example, the Internet.. with the existence of the Internet, we are able to save our time, keeping the world at our fingertips.. Last time, people used to go to the library to find information and that is quite hassle.. Now with Internet, the world has become a place without boundaries :)

      There's no need to apologize. Your comment is most welcomed raaghini:) We are moving towards a paperless world nowadays that books are now being replaced with e-books. But, don't you think that there are things that we need to search from books and some people still considered books as the best source of knowledge. Example, novels, storybooks are still printed and i believe that most avid readers out there still prefer reading and holding books rather than reading from the Internet. What say you?

    Technology does not bring any harm than good. - but it's all subjective anyway. No one is forced to buy an automobile,a cell phone,etc...if a majority of the people want a technological product,then the product must have some beneficial uses.

      but still people who can afford it can bring a lot of benefits to them.For people who cannot afford it the government will give some help such as the 1 Malaysia laptop that was given to the school students.

    Technology is useful,based on what type of technology.either medical technology,bio-technology and everything else. But entertainment based technology such as headphones,laptops,gadgets is not harmful, its how the way you use it...... just like what Azhad said...

    devil's way:we'll get whole bunch of headaches for looking at the screen, we'll get buried in homeworks, & much,much worse we get nagging from our mums for getting up late in the mornin 4 school

      because almost ALL our daily activities trace back to technology! even the moment we were born into this world, technology was there. EVERYTHING IS TECHNOLOGY! imagine living in a world w/o fans, lights, chairs, tables, pipes, shoes and even our clothes! Technology has always been a part of us, whether we want it or not. We NEED it.

      when people feel lazy to go out and buy things, they just need to click and the thing they want to buy will arrive at their doorstep. this makes them lazier going out to at least have a walk

    Without a doubt, technology has brought to people numerous benefits. For instance, electrical devices that connect people around the world, machines that increase the product of agriculture just to name a few.
    Everything has its benefits and harms, you just need to use it wisely. Do not abuse and misuse and you'd start to appreciate how the importance of these technologies.

      Absolutely yes. Nuclear plantations are used in certain countries , such as Japan, to produce electricity as it's efficient and it saves a lot of energy. However the plantation emits radiation which lead people to death. If protective measures are not taken well, people are bound to lose their lives ! Just like what happened when Tohoku earthquake struck.

    technology has harmed us in a way that texting has become something prior instead of talking in person. not only that, instead of communicating on the dinner table with family, everyone will be using their iPhone or iPad.

    i think is very good coz this make more efficiency of production and many more. this also make creative ppl increase in this world. but i there is also some negative influence such as man bcoming more and more lazy.

    Yes, technology is a necessity in the 21st century but i think that it definitely brings more harm than good. Handphone, computer, Notebook or whatever at all is all to most humans' need but it has make them too dependent on them. We no longer remember our friends' phone number or we no longer write long-handed letters. All these has make everyone neglect the traditional way of communicating. Not only that, they all cause radiation. Even little kids own handphones which is actually very bad.

    the young people nowadays addicted to the new technologies and gadgets, especially, internet and computers . the technology related to disease ............



    p/s : Many scientists believe that radiation from mobile phones may cause blurring vision, headaches and earaches and may be the reason of cancer

    i think it's depend on how we used it. if we used it wisely , we can get more advantages such as the usage of automatic washing machine can make our mom get more rest than before. otherwise, if we used it in a wrong way , it can harm us more than we expected. for example , student can smuggle their thin thinner thinnest smartphone to school and it is against the rule. -FADZILAH NABILAH YASMIN :)

    Yea, but at the same time..it brings harm while giving you the good...is it really worth it? I think every human being in this present time need technology to live, so tech developers should be considerate and minimise the harmful effects to possibly zero...then technology will bring more good than harm..:D

    There are pros and cons in technology. However,it all depends on how we use it. if we use it in a good way it will give us a lot of benefits.For example, if we use it to complete our homework or gain new information, technology would surely be a very good medium. On the other hand, if we do not know how to use it wisely, it will end up being a waste of time and money.

    Technology is important and it brings more good than harm!! As for me, i nid those �� to watch cartoon, cartoons are fun and always cheers me up!! If we watch too much �� and our eyes become blur and If you don't wan to wear ��, we can go for the EYE TREATMENT!! This treatment uses technology and it brings GOOD and NOT HARM!! ��
